Complicated grief occurs more often in people between the ages of 75-84, and there's a higher risk of depression, anxiety and suicide among this population as well. In this episode we discuss the unique grief needs of the elderly.

As a person ages their grief can become challenging for several reasons.

  • An accumulated grief due to the loss of siblings, friends, and significant others in their lives
  • Loss of a lifelong partner that they've lived with for 50-60 years or more.
  • Learning new roles after death of spouse.
